1-
Suomenlinna (Fortress islands
out of Helsinki)
2-
Islands connected by ferry (15
mins) to Helsinki port. Contain a village, museums, thick fortresses and excellent
views to the sea and coast.
3-
Beginning of s.XVIII. Fortress
in1748
4-
The islands position is very
good to defend the attacks by sea during war times and it is excellent in
peaceful time to walk around and see their attractions
5-
The islands receive the visit
from Helsinki inhabitants who stroll and relax there, where they can see art
objects made there. Different cultural events are also organized.
6-
Parts of the islands remind me
of the s.XVIII fortresses and canyons we have in Montjuic, but its winter
weather with ice breaking on the sea makes an original landscape
7-
The diversity seen in an hour
fast walk, the winter scenery of land, the excellent views and sea covered by
ice offered some magic to our visit.
