1-SKATA
2- Old Town of Pietarsaari. Quarter north
of city centre
3-Built in XVIII and XIX century to host
sailors and later workers.
4- Several orthogonal streets with some 300
wooden houses most painted in yellow, blue or red. They have beautiful windows
frames and are well kept.
5-The houses are still inhabited. It has residential
function.
6-It is very uncommon in other latitudes, like the Mediterranean countries, to find this wooden houses forming a quarter.
7- To stroll in Skata streets, admiring the old houses,
gives a peaceful atmosphere and it seems time has stopped as a frozen image.
